Alonzo “Turf” Jones Brings the Art of Extreme Hip Hop Contortionism to the Masses on ‘America’s Got Talent’

WATCH: Contestant Wows Judges, Earning the name “The Human Slinky”

SAN FRANCISCO —- After being homeless on the streets of San Francisco for two years, Alonzo Jones’ dream of dancing became a reality on last night’s ‘America’s Got Talent.’

Dancing to “Boom Boom Pow” by The Black Eyed Peas, Jones contorted his body in ways that no one has ever seen before.  He opened his routine doing a slow motion dance move and then began twisting his arms in ways that were thought to be humanly impossible.  His performance is said to have been the best one of all the San Francisco auditions and received a standing ovation from the crowd.

“100% I’ve never done anything like this,” said an emotional Jones.  “Just to be right here, dreams came true.”

Jones, also known as Turf or Retro, passed the audition stage with a unanimous ‘yes’ vote from all three judges and is moving on to the next round, which will take place in Las Vegas.  If he does well he will then go on to the “live shows” and compete for the top prize of $1 million.

“You have paid your dues in the streets and now it’s time for you to take a stage,” said Sharon Osborne, a judge on the show.

Extreme Hip Hop Contortionism has its origins from Oakland, CA and is also known as“turf dance.”  It is one of the latest emerging art forms in american dance.

Aaron Hodges is an amazing painter and tattoo artist that debuted his artwork at Art Murmur in Oakland, CA back in September 2011.  These war paintings were inspired as a tribute to those over seas and were made possible by Hodges’ good friend who told him stories and shared photos from the war in the middle east.

On November 20 we spoke with Chris, age 23, who has been with Occupy Oakland since the first police raid.  Zion-I and Deuce Eclipse did a music set in solidarity with Occupy Oakland yesterday at Snow Park.  The camp has been raided by the police three times. UPDATE: Late last night the occupiers were given free hotel vouchers to stay at a local hotel.

So raising taxes is class warfare… Really? It seems class warfare would be making the poor pay their full share of taxes when they don’t have enough money to support themselves and not requiring the rich to do the same; especially considering that our lack of tax revenue is making politicians push to cut spending by cutting/eliminating social programs that help those in the lowest financial class, i.e. welfare and education, thus, perpetuating the same problems present in our country’s impoverished classes. How is it class warfare to raise taxes on the rich when taxes are the lowest they’ve been in 50 years? It seems class warfare would be keeping the status quo, not raising taxes on the richest portions of society.
